6 tips for creating your dream wedding album.

Thousands of couples have created their wedding albums with MILK. We've got it down to a fine art. Here are our 6 top tips to preserving the memories of your special day.

1. Curate your photos

Having a clear idea of how many photos you want is important. Do you want to capture every single small detail or would you prefer a more minimalist approach? Think about the story you want to tell. Do you want a candid feel, a traditional one or a mix of both? We're firm believers in 'less is more' but we understand that some moments are just too good to be left out of the album.

2. Order first, then upload

This will save you time in the design phase. Thankfully, the story of your wedding day has a simple, easy-to-follow timeline (first look ceremony reception etc) which makes ordering easy. Your photos will have a default name attached to them in the order from when they were taken. Helpfully, this means they should automatically upload in order.

3. Start designing

Upload your photos into our easy-to-use Design Studio and get started. We recommend our "image slicing" function. Simply click to the right of any number of images in the strip at the bottom of your project and it will assign them to a spread. You can add one to twelve images per page in most MILK formats. From there, all that's left to do is select from our designer layouts and click to adjust the images within the frames.

4. Mind over matter

Putting aside time to do something meaningful feels good, so take a few evenings in the week to put some music on, pour a glass of wine and complete your book. If need be you can reach out to our customer service staff to get you over any humps that are causing you to procrastinate. Your memories are worth it.

5. Enlist your friends for help

Ask a friend for their honest opinion on your choice of photos, layouts, cover fabric and paper. You can send an online version of your in-progress digital flipbook to them via Facebook, Twitter or email. Staring at a screen for a long time, you'll begin to miss details, so getting someone with fresh eyes to scan any text for errors is a great help.

6. Finally, don't be afraid to press print

Pressing print can feel very final, but remember why you started the project in the first place and how great it'll feel to finally have the printed book in your hands. Our archival quality means it'll be enjoyed for generations. Also, MILK offers reprints at 50% off RRP if you notice any spelling errors in your book within ten days of receiving your order.
